A playing cards deck redesign
Actually, this is a redesign of a redesign because the first redesign of the traditional “carte romagnole” (cards of Romagna) was completed in 2017 but I felt so unsatisfied with the final result that I decided to keep the main concept and some good ideas and restart from scratch.
Here below I’ll post some graphic concepts and a selection of cards in order to communicate the main features and the mood of the project. This is a preliminary concept in which the old cards and the new ones are compared.
Here the less value cards, called “semi” in italian, as they were designed as new for the first time:
Here the “figure”, the cards that are worth 1/3 of a point. Each of them is dedicated to a historical character from local lore.
And finally, here is the presentation of a single card with the cover and an explanatory caption.
I’m on various socials, both with personal accounts and project-related accounts. I check them with no regularity, so if you want to be sure to contact me, the form on the left is the best option.
I guess this is some kind of mission statement
